White color is a symbol of purity. Although the name and the appearance of the iconic avant-rock band contrasts with this and other characteristics of hundreds of flowers on stage, three and a half of thousands of heads in Aegon Arena believed in an unforgettable evening. Faith No More returned in an excellent form after exactly 22 years from the Slovak premiere. Trademark of band Faith No More is unmistakable. Sharp duels of dynamic funky bass and powerful beats on the drums on one side and rock sharpened guitars with an almost poetic piano on the other. The bands´ variability of sound has no limits in this composition. A band is strengthened by its charismatic leader who is unique.
Slower “starter” from the new album “Sol Invictus” with characteristically schizophrenic refrain on the beginning, has served as a subtle introduction.
Rousing audience woke up on the second “From Out of Nowhere”. In the audience, you could see devoted fans, who enjoyed the return of the legend of their youth. “Caffeine”, “Evidence,” “Epic” … the Pattons alternated hit to hit with all the amount of energy, which returned back multiply. The band, which released its album in May, after almost 18 years of silence has perfectly followed up their creation of the 90’s with new songs. Besides the perfect Last Cup of Sorrow, obligate, but no less great smash “Midlife Crisis” ( lightened “intermezzo” in the form of R & B classic “Strawberry Letters 23″ and “Easy” with an excellent sounded too mystical “Separation Anxiety” burdensome “Matador” and a little more action and for the author of this text, the best song from the news – “Superhero”.
Just those three new songs played immediately after each other were a musical highlight of the concert. Faith No More with its eclecticism, ability to write timeless songs and concerts full of contrasts are touching rock Olympus, this is what visitors should agree with.
